Toyota's downward slide in sales continues as the company announced a de-growth of 41 per cent in January 2020. There is, however, a silver lining to the story as the company also announced that it has successfully ensured runout of BS4 vehicles from its plants by end of January 2020. The company has already introduced the BS6 compliant Innova Crysta in January with an announcement of bookings at a limited introductory price offer.

Commenting on the monthly sales, Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales and Service, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, "We are happy to note that customers have responded well to the BS-VI compliant Innova Crysta. We have already reached nearly the equivalent of one month sales as bookings since the introductory price announcement on January 6th, 2020. The next few months may turn out to be highly volatile and challenging for the auto industry. TKM is making plans and continuously adjusting to match the changing market conditions."
