Mahindra Blazo X Heavy Vehicle Range Gets BS6 Homologation Certificate

Mahindra Truck and Bus (MTB) has announced receiving Bharat Stage VI (BS6) homologation certification for its Blazo X range of heavy commercial vehicles from the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT). The company launched the Mahindra Blazo X range in November 2018, and the new BS6 emission norms kicking in from April 2020, it is about time Mahindra got BS6 ready. Especially considering the fact that Bharat-Benz recently unveiled its complete BS6 range of heavy vehicle in addition to other design and features upgrades.

Vinod Sahay, CEO, Mahindra Truck and Bus, Mahindra & Mahindra said, "The awarding of the certificate is a proud moment for us since it is the culmination of our efforts to ensure that our BS6 vehicles feature the same tried and trusted engine and aggregates with minimal change. This will enable our customers to focus on their businesses, rather than worrying about the new BS6 technology-related changes in their trucks. Going ahead, in BS6 era too, we will ensure that we stay ahead of the curve and provide higher earnings and hassle-free ownership experience to our customers".

The Mahindra Blazo X range comes with the company's patented FuelSmart technology and the range comprises multi-axle rigid truck, tipper, and a tractor-trailer, between 28 to 55 Tonne GVW. In addition to the BS6 engine, the range will also come with advanced Mahindra iMAXX telematics technology, which is enabled with IOT, AI and Machine Learning capabilities as standard. This will allow customers to get accurate and complete visibility of their trucks.

The Mahindra Blazon X comes with the same tried and trusted mPOWER CRDe engine, however, the company also offers SCR, DOC, DPF and EGR technologies so that when the trucks become BS6 compliant, the part level changes are kept to a minimal. Also to keep emission levels low, the company has made use of Mid-NOx strategy with mild EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) to improve emissions consistency and reduce AdBlue or DEF consumption.
