Spy shots of an advanced prototype of the 2020 KTM 390 Duke have emerged yet again, giving a glimpse of the updates the bike is set to get. The test mule in the latest pictures though look closer to production, and could well be the updated model of the acclaimed entry-level premium performance naked. The test mule is heavily stripped down, so there's no way of knowing if there will be any cosmetic updates to the bike, but from what we can see, the new KTM 390 Duke will sport a reworked chassis, new rear monoshock, swingarm, and may possibly get a new front fork as well.
The exhaust set up looks slightly different as well, and considering the new model will need to meet the latest emission standards, both in India, and in Europe, the 373 cc single-cylinder engine will likely get tweaked as well. With the updates in the chassis and suspension, the brakes could also get upgraded for the new model, and it's likely that ride, handling and braking will all see some improvements in the new model.
The next generation KTM 390 Duke may also get some new electronic rider aids, including traction control and cornering ABS, similar to what is being offered in the KTM 390 Adventure, which will be launched in India very soon. So far, there's no word on when the new model will be launched in India, and if it will be launched sometime in this calendar year to meet the new Bharat Stage VI (BS6) emission regulations, or if KTM will wait to launch the updated bike as a 2021 model.
