Desi startups ride on China for ‘Make-in-India’ e-bikes

Several small companies have sprung up recently which are part of a large group of start-ups that are sourcing batteries, controllers, and body parts of an electric vehicle, mostly from China and stitching them in India before selling it under the ‘Make in India’ tag. Most of these companies have 50 or less employees and sales volumes under 5K bikes annually.
