The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift has arrived after almost four years into the model's lifecycle. That said, it's one of those models no one really had complains with in terms of appearance. So even the facelift has made just minor modification to its styling, but what's been introduced now is something that the Vitara Brezza desperately needed. It's a new petrol engine which has replaced the older Fiat-sourced diesel engine on offer in its predecessor, given the shift in demand towards petrol offerings. Exterior And Styling
Majority of the changes in the new Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift are centered on its face.
The new Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift looks very similar to its predecessor, retaining its boxy silhouette and squared proportions and the dimensions remain unchanged as well. Most of the changes are centred on its face like the new grille with bolder chrome slats flanked by new double-barrel projector-beam headlamps with sleek LED DRLS. Other styling updates include bigger side curtains, chunkier silver skid plates both at the front and rear, LED tail lamps and new 16-inch machined alloy wheels.
The outgoing model missed out on DRLs and had slimmer skid plates.
Bumpers on the outgoing model were less beefy sporting slim skid plates and narrow fog lamp housing. There were no DRLs on offer and the chrome grille's design later was carried over to the S-Presso as well. Moreover, the previous model used to ride on 16-inch alloy wheels, but missed out on LED tail lamps as well.

Interior And Features
The Vitara Brezza facelift sports a new leather-wrapped steering wheel and an updated 7-inch SmartPlay Studio 2.0 system
The cabin of the new Vitara Brezza Facelift remains identical in to its predecessor in terms of layout and fit and finish. It's still an all-black cabin with mesh pattern of the dash, piano black inserts around the air-con vents and silver highlights on the around the central console. The majo change though is that the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the Vitara Brezza has been updated with the latest Smartplay Studio 2.0 infotainment interface which is more vibrant to look at and makes it more intuitive to operate.

Powertrain
2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift now gets the new 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine that replaces the 1.3 DDIS motor
The Vitara Brezza has received the biggest update in this department. It gets the Ciaz-sourced 1.5-litre, four-cylinder BS6 petrol engine coupled with an electric motor which also enabled idle start-stop along with enhancing fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. The hybrid powertrain puts out 102 bhp at 6000 rpm and 134 Nm of peak torque at 4400 rpm and is mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre, four-cylinder, multijet diesel engine has been discontinued due to the high cost involved in upgrading it to meet the BS6 emission norms. The motor used to belt out 87 bhp at 4000 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm and was mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed AMT gearbox. Maruti Suzuki has also developed a brand new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, diesel motor but as of now has no plans to upgrade it for meeting the BS6 emission norms. Maruti Suzuki India's chairperson, R C Bhargava had earlier announced that the company will continue with the diesel powertrain for select models, only if it will foresee a potential market, despite the price hike.
Safety
The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift remains identical to its predecessor in the safety department as well. So features like, dual-airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electric brake force distribution (EBD), speed-alarm, seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchorage mounts are standard across variants.
